The Char-Broil Performance 4 Burner Gas Grill is a solid choice for backyard cooks who want reliable heat and generous cooking space without a premium price tag. Built with four stainless steel burners delivering a combined output in the range of 30,000 to 36,000 BTUs, this grill provides even heat distribution across its primary cooking grates, which typically offer around 425 square inches of porcelain-coated cast iron or steel wire grilling surface. An additional swing-away rack expands total cooking area to handle burgers, steaks, and vegetables simultaneously, making it well suited for family gatherings or casual weekend cookouts where flexibility matters as much as raw power. What sets this Char-Broil model apart is its infrared technology found in select Performance Series configurations, which sears meat quickly while locking in juices, reducing flare-ups that often plague traditional gas grills. The porcelain-coated firebox and lid resist rust and retain heat efficiently, while the electronic ignition system ensures consistent startup without the fuss of matches or lighter fluid. A built-in lid thermometer lets grillers monitor internal temperature without lifting the hood, preserving heat and cutting down cooking time. The side shelves offer practical space for prepping ingredients, holding utensils, or resting plates, and many versions include a side burner for warming sauces or cooking accompaniments like corn or sautéed vegetables alongside the main dish. Constructed with a sturdy cart design featuring wheels for mobility and a lower storage cabinet, this grill balances durability with everyday convenience. The cabinet enclosure also houses the standard 20-pound propane tank, keeping the cooking area tidy and the fuel source protected from the elements. Assembly is straightforward, and the grill’s dimensions strike a balance between compact patio placement and enough cooking real estate for entertaining. For grilling enthusiasts seeking dependable performance, multiple burner control for zone cooking, and the searing benefits of infrared technology, the Char-Broil Performance 4 Burner Gas Grill delivers a well-rounded package that stands up to frequent use throughout grilling season.
Assembled this in about an hour and it's been cooking great ever since. Heats up fast and holds temperature well across all four burners.
Works well overall, but the side shelf wobbles a bit. Still, for the price I can't complain about the cooking performance.
Ignition has never failed me and the grates sear steaks nicely. Just wish the thermometer was a bit more accurate.
Four burners give plenty of room to cook for a crowd. The side burner is a nice bonus for warming sauces.
Grill cooks fine but after one summer I noticed some paint flaking near the firebox. Still functional though.
